Hansen’s disease, more commonly known as leprosy will be in the news throughout the year 2009 as some significant dates are observed.
Mr. Ramirez is schedule to have two book signings in February. The first will be on February 19, 2009 at the National Hansen’s Disease Museum in Carville, Louisiana, and the second on February 20, 2009 at the dinner hosted by The Arc of Greater Houston. Other signings are being arranged in Laredo, Texas by his siblings and the Laredo Health Department, and by the National Association of Social Workers in Houston, Texas.

| * Mr. Ramirez will travel to New Delhi, India to attend the World Health Organization's (WHO) meeting of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to address issues on how the "burden on leprosy" can be met by the year 2013. Mr. Ramirez is recognized by WHO as an expert on the issues of stigma related to leprosy, and with his professional training in social work, he has been requested to develop strategies on education and psychological counseling. |
